24/7 Emergency Response

When you’re in a pickle, we’re here to help.

Around here, when you go to someones house, you bring something with you. That’s just how we were raised. Our plumbers work in your space, ask you to trust them with your home, and sometimes turn your day upside down in the process.

The least we can do is leave something behind that actually means something. Not a fridge magnet, but a small, genuine thank-you for letting us in. The pickles are simply one small way of making things feel a little more neighbourly.

How It Started

It's a neighbourly thing.

When Reece started Harper’s Plumbing, he wanted the experience to feel less like a service call and more like a neighbour stopping by to lend a hand. That meant being on time, being honest, and leaving the place better than we found it. It also meant showing up with something, because that’s what you do when someone opens their door to you.

One snowy afternoon around Christmas, Morgan found locally made Alberta pickles and thought it would be fun to do something a little different for the neighbours on Cedarville Green.

Usually on the green, neighbours might exchange a card or some baking with the families next door. Instead, Reece, Morgan, and 3-year-old Judy loaded up a wagon full of pickle jars wrapped with ribbon and pinecones and went door to door delivering them to the entire green. Later on, we started bringing jars to a few plumbing customers after renovation projects or larger jobs as a thank-you for welcoming us into their homes.

We’ve always hoped Harper’s Plumbing would feel a little more like neighbours helping neighbours rather than just another company showing up at the door

- Reece Harper

It was a simple gesture. People smiled, remembered it, and started asking if the pickles were coming back on the next visit. Over time, it became part of Harper’s Plumbing.

These days, it’s not unusual for a Harper’s Plumbing visit to end with a jar of locally sourced Alberta pickles sitting on the kitchen counter -because to us, plumbing has never just been about pipes and fixtures. It’s about people, homes, and trying to leave things feeling a little better than when we arrived.

Our Partner

Localite

Founded by Benjamin Toews in Calgary, Alberta

Localite is built on a simple belief: Alberta farms produce something worth preserving, and more local families should be able to enjoy it.

Each batch is prepared by hand in certified Alberta kitchens, using fruits and vegetables grown on prairie fields and sourced from trusted Alberta and B.C farmers. It’s a small, thoughtful operation focused on quality – which is exactly why it felt like a natural fit for how we like to do things at Harper’s. When we were looking for something to leave behind with customers, we weren’t looking for a product. We were looking for a story. Localite had one worth telling.
