Job Details
At this Inglewood, SE Calgary home, our technicians completed a few important plumbing updates in one visit: replacing the main water shut-off valve, adding a dedicated shut-off valve to the cold water supply for the hot water tank, and servicing an older two-handle shower faucet that was dripping.
Older plumbing can come with a few surprises, especially when parts are no longer standard. This job required a careful approach so we could improve function without damaging components that may be difficult to replace.
The Call
The homeowner needed the main water shut-off valve replaced and wanted a proper isolation valve added to the hot water tank supply line. They also had an older two-handle shower faucet with hot water running through it, which needed to be inspected and serviced.

Helpful Note
If your shower handle is stiff, dripping, or hard to shut off, the issue may be inside the valve, not just the handle. Older two-handle shower valves can often be serviced, but when parts are seized or difficult to replace, a planned valve replacement may be the better long-term fix.
