Frost-Free Hose Bib Replacement in High River

Job Details

At this High River home, the outdoor hose bib needed to be replaced before regular spring and summer use. Because the repair required access from inside the home, our technician cut in a neat access panel, replaced the existing hose bib with a new frost-free model, then tested and drained the line with the colder overnight temperatures still in mind.

The Call

The homeowner needed an outside hose bib replaced. With the weather still dipping below freezing at night, it was important to install the new fixture properly, test it, and make sure the line was drained after service.

What We Did

  • Accessed the hose bib connection from inside the home
  • Cut a 14” x 14” access panel into the closet wall to reach the plumbing cleanly
  • Removed the existing outdoor hose bib
  • Installed a new 10” frost-free hose bib
  • Completed the required PEX connections for the new installation
  • Pressurized the system and tested thoroughly
  • Drained the water down after testing because temperatures were still cold overnight
